| Mrs. Burks responds to the "BOOMER'S and BEYOND- Rx for the Golden Years" - survey as follows: |
 |
I. GOOD ASPECTS OF BEING A SENIOR CITIZEN:
• When you are old, people get up and give you their seat on a bus, etc.
• Getting Senior discounts on things you buy.
• In Africa, you get the only chair or spoon or plate, when there is just one.
• People think you are much smarter than you really are.
• But BEST of ALL, you are closer to going to your heavenly home! |
 |
II. WORST ASPECTS OF BEING A SENIOR CITIZEN:
• I love being a SENIOR adult and can think of no "worst aspects."
There are none! God gave us these periods in our life, and each one is important. We should enjoy the all! |
| |
III.ADVICE TO THE YOUNGER GENERATION:
• Listen more and talk less! (You don't know it all - neither do I!)
• Set goals for yourself and dream BIG, then trust God to help you reach them.
• Live each day as if it would be your last one.
• Look for the good in every person you meet and try to bring out their best.
• Spend time with God each day and listen to Him when He speaks to you, either through His Word
(the Bible,)a friend or a circumstance. |
| |
IV. OTHER COMMENTS:
• Give God the best of everything and He will pour more blessings upon you than you can handle.
We can never "outgive" God in anything- time, talent,or money!
• Love the Lord with all your heart, soul and strength - and your neighbor as yourself. |
