The author’s writing career began in Germany and continued here in the United States with published articles and poems. Four decades, five children and thirteen grandchildren later, writing remains her spark with a mission. In November of 2007, her first book “BOOMERS & BEYOND-Rx for the Golden Years” was published with plans for other titles to follow.
Heidemarie is a Registered Nurse. She has earned a Liberal Arts and Applied Science (Nursing) degree from Maria College in Albany, New York. Working in Healthcare for more than 20 years, the author has come to know the joys, sorrows, and needs of all people but in particular the older generation. Her own experiences, including the survival of tragedy and losses, have given her the edge on communicating a message of hope effectively. She retired in 2005 but presently continues her work as Admissions RN for Tidewell Hospice and Palliative Care of Sarasota, Florida, a great organization of people caring for the needs of the terminally ill and dying, as well as providing support for their families.
Born in Bad Landeck, Schlesien, Germany, Heidemarie Reuter lived in Berlin, where she made the best and most important decision of her life, when during an old-fashioned tent meeting, conducted by an American evangelistic organization, at the age of ten, she responded to the invitation and accepted God’s great gift of salvation and eternal life through Jesus Christ. Heidemarie has experienced His miraculous leading in her life and married US Army Sgt. Neal Thomas Rowe in 1966, when he was stationed in Baumholder, Germany.
The couple came to the United States in 1967 and lived in Columbia County, New York, until 2004, when as run-away parents and grandparents they relocated, drawn by the warmer climate of South West Florida.
